A Life Full of Change

James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Our lives are wrought with change. We wake up and expect everything to remain the same but the truth is that everything changes. The wind and the rain, the waves in the ocean, everything is moving and shifting, even the Earth under our feet. It is very hard, at times, to remain constant when everything around us is shifting. It is challenging to maintain confidence when our whole world can change in an instant. One call from the doctor with unwanted test results can change the course of your life. One meeting at work with an unfavorable outcome could forever change your finances and way of life. One car accident could forever change your child. Nothing in life is guaranteed, except for change. So how do we remain confident and positive when we are not even promised tomorrow? We focus on God, that’s how. He never changes. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He does not change like shifting shadows or the ever-changing ocean waves. He is always present, always knowing, and always powerful in our lives. He is our constant.

He is our source of confidence. He is the reason we can remain joyful, no matter our circumstances, no matter what tomorrow may bring. We can rely on Him to see us through anything. His promises in His Word are for us to hold on to. I encourage you to pray daily and read His love story to you every chance you get. Let’s pray. Heavenly Father, we thank you for this simple, yet profound reminder that in the midst of a world full of change, you are our constant. Thank you for being the same yesterday, today, and forever. Thank you Lord for being with us amongst our life of change. Thank you for caring for us daily. We love you tremendously. Amen.
